Christopher Matthew Tallman

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

Christopher (Chris) Tallman sadly departed this life on April 13, 2008, when the shark diving vessel he was aboard capsized off the coast of South Africa. He was 33 years old.

Chris was a world traveler and true adventurer who loved to hike, run, backpack, snow ski and take long walks by the water with his beloved dog Jackson. Those lucky enough to know Chris, appreciated his dry and quirky sense of humor, his integrity, his loyalty to his family and friends, and his quiet self-assurance.

Chris (performing as Matthew Chase) was a gifted singer/songwriter, who believed that music serves as an essential life force. He maintained that every individual deserves access to the many positive benefits that music and the pursuit of a high quality music education provide. In his honor, THE CHRIS TALLMAN/MATTHEW CHASE MUSIC FUND has been established to provide underprivileged young people – age twenty-one or younger – with the opportunity to begin, enhance, or further their music education and music-related studies.

Blue Bear School of Music is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization located in San Francisco, California. Blue Bear will manage and serve as the fiscal agent for the fund in close collaboration and consultation with Chris’ wife, Sarah Tallman.
